Today we’re sharing a brand new roundup: 22 publications that pay for LGBTQ+ writing.

These outlets span queer culture, politics, identity, trans experience, BIPOC queer perspectives, relationships, health, literary fiction, and investigative journalism, from regional indie platforms to major national brands worldwide.

Whether you want to write sharp reported features on queer communities, craft first-person essays rooted in lived experience, cover LGBTQ+ politics and activism with authority, or produce cultural criticism on queer film, TV, and the arts, here you’ll find outlets commissioning fresh voices and original perspectives.

Each listing includes pay rates (sourced directly from published guidelines or noted as writer reports where applicable), direct links to pitch guidelines or editorial contact pages, and a clear breakdown of what each outlet actually commissions.
