Deadlines in March…

  • The 2025 Raz-Shumaker Book Prize is still open for submissions! Send your manuscripts of poetry or short fiction by March 15. Winners will receive $3000 and publication through the University of Nebraska Press. Closes March 15th.

  • The Martello Journal is currently open for submissions for Edition VI. “What makes you angry? The world is burning. We’re moving backwards. It’s all going a bit dystopian. It’s a mess. It’s a riot. We’re ragin. Tell us about your rage.” Submissions open to March 15th.

  • Experienced journalists Caitlin Kelly & Matt Potter are running a new webinar: The art of the interview: Advanced skills & approaches for journalists. I have attended some of their webinars in the past and find them to be extremely valuable for journalists of any level. This one is on March 16th.

  • The Forward Prizes for Poetry remain open for submissions to any poet who has had a collection of poetry published in the UK or Ireland. It comes with a prize of £10,000. Closes March 16th.

  • The 2025 Fitzcarraldo Editions/Mahler & LeWitt Studios Essay Prize, an annual competition for unpublished writers, is open to submissions. “The judges will be looking for essays that explore and expand the possibilities of the essay form, with no restrictions on theme or subject matter. Initially made possible by an Arts Council Grant in 2015, the prize awards £4,000 to the best proposal for a book-length essay (minimum 25,000 words) by a writer resident in the UK & Ireland who has yet to secure a publishing deal.” Closes March 17th.
